Testing Program Terms & Disclaimer

1. Purpose

The FT-991 Web Remote Control testing program provides pre-release software to volunteer testers for evaluation, feedback, and bug reporting purposes only. This software is provided for testing and is not intended for critical operations or commercial use.

2. No Warranty

THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NONINFRINGEMENT. The software is in active development and may contain bugs, errors, or other defects that could cause system failures or data loss.

3. Disclaimer of Liability

IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AUTHORS, COPYRIGHT HOLDERS, OR PROJECT MAINTAINERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR OTHER LIABILITY, WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.

This includes, but is not limited to:

• Damage to radio equipment or computer hardware
• Loss of data or configuration settings
• Unauthorized radio transmissions or violations of any law
• Interference with other equipment or systems
• Any direct, indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages

4. User Responsibility

By participating in this testing program, you acknowledge and agree that:

• You are responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable amateur radio regulations during testing
• You will use the software in a safe testing environment where equipment damage or unintended transmissions will not cause harm
• You understand that this is pre-release software and should not be relied upon for critical communications or emergency operations
• You will not hold the project maintainers responsible for any issues that arise from testing the software
• You have adequate knowledge to safely operate amateur radio equipment and computer systems

5. Confidentiality

While this software may be released as open-source in the future, testing builds are provided to a limited group. Testers are requested (but not legally bound) to:

• Not redistribute testing builds to non-participants
• Not publicly share login credentials or serial codes
• Provide constructive feedback to help improve the software

6. Termination

Access to the testing program may be revoked at any time, for any reason, without notice. Serial codes have expiration dates and must be renewed periodically.

7. Amateur Radio Compliance

This software is designed for use with amateur radio equipment. All users must:

• Hold a valid amateur radio license for their jurisdiction
• Operate within the privileges granted by their license class
• Ensure proper station identification during transmissions
• Follow all applicable regulations regarding remote control operations

8. No Support Obligation

This is a volunteer testing program. While we appreciate bug reports and feedback, there is no obligation to provide technical support, fix reported issues, or continue development of the software.

9. Acceptance

By applying to the testing program, logging in, or downloading any testing builds, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these terms and disclaimers.
